REVIEW: FACE OF AUSTRALIA, FACE BASE PRIMER

Hey girls,
This is a review on the Face Of Australia, 3 in 1 Face Base Primer. I picked this up because I ran out of my Napoleon Perdis one and saw how inexpensive this was! I always recommend using a primer but some find it unnecessary. I think partly due to how expensive primers can get, girls can decide to skip this step. Because of this, I wanted to try out a cheap primer alternative to see if you can get the same effects with an affordable product as you can with an expensive one.
Benefits: This is a 3 in 1 primer so it's benefits are sun protection (SPF 15), Moisturizing and of course it acts as a primer.
Effectiveness: Surprisingly, I find that my makeup stays on just as long when I use this as it does when I use my much more expensive Napoleon Perdis one. It doesn't make my face oily or greasy and it definitely prolongs how long my foundation/concealer/powder lasts.
Quantity: The tube contains 50ml of product and you only need a pea sized amount each time so it will last you a fairly long time.
Price: Depending on where you purchase it from, the price ranges from $10-$14.
Where to purchase this: I bought mine from Target but I know places like Kmart, Big W, Priceline and maybe pharmacies stock it.
Would I repurchase this? I will be repurchasing this when I run out because it is much cheaper to keep buying compared to my Napoleon Perdis one which I was using prior to this.

REVIEW: MAYBELLINE ONE BY ONE MASCARA

Hey girls,
I'm all for trying new beauty products and something I really enjoy is testing out different mascaras! Considering you should replace your mascara every 2-3 months, which is much more frequently than any other makeup items, it makes you more able to switch up the ones you use and try something new each time. I was so excited when I saw that Maybelline released another mascara because I'm a huge fan of Colossal, Falsies and Lash Stiletto.
Packaging: The same packaging most Maybelline mascaras come in, the standard tube which I find is really good for avoiding build up of product on the tube. I am in love with the colour combination of a vibrant hot orange and turquoise.
Price: Depending where you buy this from, if it's full price or on sale, the price varies. I purchased mine from Priceline for $18 but I saw that Big W had a sale for $13. You could probably find it anywhere between $10 to $20.
Brush: The wand has rubber bristles which I quite love, LashBlast from CoverGirl has a similar brush although the bristles are much longer on "One By One". Although they are pretty hard bristles, they do a good job covering the whole lash.
Effectiveness: This mascara is very good for lengthening and separating hence the name "One By One" but lacks in volumizing and thickening aspects. Perfect for layering thickening mascaras over, I like to layer it and Falsies.
Consistency: The formulation and thin and gel like, more watery and gloopy.
Pigmentation: Similar to Falsies, very pigmented and black in colour. It covers the lashes very well and makes them really nice and dark.
I think "One By One" is a great addition to the many Maybelline mascaras on the market and recommend checking it out if your looking for a new mascara or needing to replace the one you have been using.

HAUL: REVLON EYELASHES

Hey girls,
I was at Priceline the other day and stumbled across a huge range of eyelashes and such from Revlon. I haven't tried out any of these products as of yet but will probably be doing a review once I have had the time to experiment a bit more with them.
Beyond Natural Individual Lashes
Fantasy Lengths "Defining"
Fantasy Lengths "Flirty"
Precision Lash Adhesive
I am really excited to try out all of these lashes, especially the full sets because it claims you don't need any lash glue and they adhere themselves to the lid, I would love to see how effective this is. Reviews will be coming up soon so watch out for those.

MARCH BEAUTY BLOGGER

The beauty blogger for March is Melissa from Budget Beauty Banshee! Melissa just finished  Bloguary where she posted something on her blog every day for the month of February! I would really recommend checking it out because I found it really great to read something daily from Melissa and got to know her much better! She also has a YouTube channel which you can check out here. I asked her a few questions about blogging, makeup and fashion so keep reading to find out more about her and her blog!
What inspired you to begin blogging?
I decided to start my blog after I started uploading videos on youtube. I wanted to make more of a connection with other people who werent on youtube and found many great people through beautylish.com.

How would you describe the clothes you wear?
Since I am in college I do dress for comfort most of the time, usually skinny jeans and a tshirt or a dress with leggings. I love summer dresses and wear them all year and I wear sperry's almost all of the time.

How would you describe your makeup style?
I usually go for a clean-fresh-faced look for class and work, but sometimes I like to add some color on my eyes or a bold lip. At night and for special occasions I love a red lipstick with black smokey eyes! Classic and sophistocated.
When you not blogging, what do you enjoy doing with your time?
I am just about to finish my Bachelors of Science in Dietetics, so I spend a lot of time studying and reading. I also like to run, do yoga, knit and do crafts, play some video games, cook, and bake. I also play guitar, piano, bass and trumpet and like to compose and play at open mic nights.

Beauty products you couldn't live without and why?
1. Facewash - my skin would be horrid without it, I dont have flawless skin and have to wash my face well. I ususally switch up my cleansers each day.
2. Soap and Glory Lotions - Smell so good and they make my skin soft and supple. I never leave the house it.
3. Eos Lipbalm in Sweetmint - living in Michigan, my lips get super chaped in the winter so it is a total lifesaver.
4. Eye liner - it really helps make me look human, without it I look ill and creepy :p
5. Foundation - I dont have to wear it, but I feel so much more confident with it on.

How has 2012 been for you so far?

Its my last semester so I have a lighter load and more hours for work and making money which = more money for trying new products and more time for Youtube and blogging. I am also signed up for a half marathon in mid march and am graduating in May!
Thank you to Melissa for being my March Beauty Blogger!!
Please stop by her blog and youtube sometime.
