Growing My Hair Quickly - My Haircare Routine

If you know me well then you understand while I’m a huge sceptic – I’m always willing to give something a go. You’ll never see me talking about diet teas or waist trainers because I don’t fall for crap and I hate hype.

But when it comes to claims the beauty industry makes – throw it at me and I’ll put it to the test!

So when I was contacted by a company that claimed to grow my hair quickly in just 6 weeks – I wasn’t sure what to expect. That was about 2 months ago and after using the products consistently my hair has never felt healthier and thicker. While yes, it is NOTICEABLY a lot longer.

I have quite slow growing hair so I know it is definitely due to this haircare regime I have been following from ‘Bondi Boost’.

Get all the deets in my latest video below or head over to www.bondiboost.com.au

I want to get some sick before and after picture to be patient with me so I can really do the product justice and show what a dramatic effect it can have.

Preventing Hair Breakage - I'm Looking At You Blondes..

As someone who have been various degrees of blonde my whole life, I have definitely gotten to a stage now where I can finally grow my hair out long because I know how to take care of it while still being blonde.

I struggled with hair breakage for most of my life and have often had extremely thin hair that won't grow past shoulder length. Over the past few years I have really mastered the art of taking care of my hair so that it is healthy and nourished enough to grow. Now that I've followed these tips, my hair is longer than ever and way past bra strap length.

Read on to find out 6 of my biggest tips for preventing hair breakage as a blonde.

We're Getting Fancy - Kerastase Aura Botanica

Recently I've been ALL ABOUT that haircare life. I think a lot of it comes from when I get my hair re-done and feel the drying effects of the bleach as well as wanting my hair to become thicker and healthier generally.

So I have been investing in my haircare a little bit more so than usual lately, dabbling in some higher end brands which focus in-depth on hair care and reconstituting your hair make-up.

In this post I wanted to discuss a new range I've been using from Kerastase called 'aura botanica' and it's three step series of haircare.

Kerastase say to offer truly effective care to enhance natural, lightly revitalized hair to leave it with a healthy glow. This range is also 98%-99% natural - I like the sound of that. It also seems to be quite a trend at the moment with natural haircare, especially after the uproar with sulphates a few years ago.

Here's the breakdown

Lavender Locks - L'Oreal Colorful Hair

A couple of weeks ago I swapped my regular blonde for lavender locks and wanted to share my experience with the process.

If you follow me over on Instagram you would already be well acquainted with my little purple experiment but I also wanted to do a fully inclusive blog post about the entire process.

I worked with L'Oreal and their new range 'Colorful Hair' and the amazing hairdressing salon FruITion Hair at Wilston to make my purple hair dreams become reality. Let me tell you, with so many gorgeous colour options from the new hair range I was struggling to decide between pink, purple and blue but ultimately thought purple was a safe bet. My thinking was that it isn't too different to toning blonde hair with purple shampoo and for that reason, the fade out of the colour would be a low maintenance process.

So let me talk you through how it all went down... and lots of pictures (obvi).

Get The Look - Football Gala Dinner

This Saturday just gone I swapped my usual weekend attire of living in my active wear for a black tie dress code.

Really, who doesn't like an excuse to dress up? Even if the night ends with eating cheeseburgers in the back of a cab, at least you look like you have your life together while doing so because your hair is in place. Although not the same case with my lipstick, but that's another story..

Anyway what I'm here to talk about are all the details of my outfit, hair and makeup from the night. Spoiler alert: my dress only cost me $80.

Looking At My Hair Under a Microscope! The Verdict!

A couple of weeks ago I headed into Tognini's Haidressing Salon, just off James Street in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. Side note- if you're ever in James Street you can get a killer coffee from the most gorgeous sunny café, Chow House.

Back to my salon visit. I was there to experience a customized Kerastase Treatment, which I have previously tried and you can read all about that experience here. But every time is different because your hair changes in what it needs depending on a lot of factors; the weather, how much styling you have been doing and if you have recently done something different with your colour. Think of it like a cocktail mixed up just for what your hair needs.

3 Uses For the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil-in-Cream + Review

My blonde haired readers, this one is for you! If you have colour treated hair (and by that I mean torture your hair with bleach like myself) then you too might struggle with split ends and dry golden locks.

I am always looking for products on the market that I can look to that bring my hair back to life and I think I may have found a hidden gem that isn't just all talk.

'Split ends repairing', 'keratin protein', 'advanced milk strengthener' and other jargon terms used for products that show no results...but this is where this product actually lives up to the hype. It is a nourishing leave in cream that I find is much more than that and can be used in a multitude of different ways.

THE FERRARI OF BLOW DRYERS

Not all hairdryers are made the same and this Babyliss one takes the cake for coolest on the market. Labelled the 'Ferrari of blow dryers' because the motor was made by the luxurious car brand - this model is no joke.

They say that the main difference between cheap and expensive blow dryers is the motor so knowing that this model is made by Ferrari gives me high hopes of it's quality.

There is nothing worse than buying a hairdryer and having it die on you a couple of months afterwards. I am of the opinion that it is worth it to invest in good quality products if they are going to last you a good amount of time.

EASTER HAIR PRODUCT MUST HAVES

If you are anything like me then hair isn't a top priority when rushing out the door before work and makeup/ selecting an outfit tends to take up most of the time.

So with the long Easter weekend coming up there might be a bit of extra time to spend on those neglected locks. I might actually try with my hair for once since I have a bit of extra time so I have pulled together three products that I would recommend giving a go on your hair.

You know what time it is; Tuesday’s are for quick tips here on Jordy’s Beauty Spot and I am here with a quick and easy one to do with time management.

It’s what I like to call the cram beauty sesh and it is exactly what it sounds like.

If you come home from work and are feeling extremely tired and run down then something picks you up more than pampering yourself. The main issue that might be stopping you from reaching for the face masks is being so exhausted that you don’t have the energy to bother with a full length pamper session. Introducing the cram beauty sesh.
