It's the most exciting lip product release of the year so far in my opinion with an amazing colour selection, incredibly pigmentation and formulation and overall unbelievable quality. A lip pencil to rival the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils.
We're talking about the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils, the latest lip product offering from Maybelline. Before we get into the review I'll give you a hint- they are incredible.
Swatches from top to bottom: 630 Nude Perfection, 140 Minimalist, 130 Love My Pink, 420 In Love With Coral, 150 Fuschia Desire, 520 Light It Up, 310 Berry Much, 110 Pink So Chic.
When I first swatched one of these on my hand, my jaw dropped and I was blown away with how the product effortlessly glided on and how incredibly pigmented the colour applied.
Application is an absolute dream due to the creamy consistency and formulation that adheres the colour to the lips so well. Despite this, they definitely aren't as messy as you would imagine and although the product is quite soft, it is unlikely for it to slip or smudge throughout the day.
The colour range is absolutely fantastic with ten shade options at Priceline with a selection of nudes, pinks, reds, berries and even a coral. Each colour is incredibly pigmented and true to the shade shown on the tip of the pencil.
This product is the closest anything has ever come to the NARS lip pencils and in some aspects, these are actually better especially in terms of formulation.
At only $9.95 these are an absolute steal and extremely affordable, even for something within the drugstore let alone a product so comparable to high end. These are available at any Maybelline display such as those found in Kmart, Target, Big W, Priceline and other chemists.
Whatever you do, you must pick up at least a couple of these shades next time you are at a Maybelline display. My personal colour recommendations are; Nude Perfection for a Kylie Jenner nude, In Love With Coral for a bright Summer pop of colour and Pink So Chic for the most perfect Autumn berry.
