REVIEW: GARNIER SKINCARE

Hey everyone,
Recently my Priceline had a 20% off Garnier sale so I took it as an opportunity to pick up a couple new skincare products. I have  been searching for a new cleanser to use for a while now so took this sale as a chance to get a couple of steps closer to finding my perfect face wash. The whole reason why I have been searching for a new cleanser is because I have been using an assortment of Clinique cleansers but they all just seem too harsh for my skin. I don't even have sensitive skin yet using my Clinique ones result in an irritated red face. It is a little dissapointing because Clinique has been working for me for many years now but I just think my skin is changing-becoming less oily and acne prone so I don't need something as strong anymore.
The first product I decided to try out is the "Pure, Deep Clean Cream Wash". What attracted me to this was how basic and fresh it appeared. A very plain face wash for everyday use, no fancy harsh chemicals or exfoliating beads, just a simple and gentle cleanser. I adore these sorts of products because I don't believe in irritating your skin with strong chemicals or drying agents which I now realise my Clinique cleansers have. This has now become part of my everyday skincare routine, replacing my Clinique fash washes and my skin has never been better. When I get out of the shower, I don't experience a tightening in my skin or irritated red blotches on my face! My skin has become much less dry but still not oily, I can not rave about how much this product has done for my skin. Basically it treats my acne as well as my Clinique products did but it just isn't as harsh so I don't have irritated skin.
Not to mention the price difference between Clinique and Garnier! I can generally get this facewash for about $10 on sale whereas my Clinique was $35. I am very happy with how this product has worked for me and recommend trying it out if your finding that strong facewashes have stopped working for you. The consistency of this facewash is a cross between a cream and a gel, it's more like a very runny cream formulation. This feels lovely and refreshing on your face as well as having a relaxing cucumber smell.
The next product I thought I would give a try because it looked interesting and I have always wondered how well these "blackhead scrubs" actually work. I figured it was on sale so I might as well give it a go. Biggest mistake ever! It was horrible! The complete opposite of the Cream Wash as it was gritty, harsh and made my face feel like it was on fire. I am always careful with these products because I know how often they can contain very harsh chemicals so I only rubbed it on my face for about 30 seconds and washed it off right after. Still, once I got out of the shower, my face was burning, red, blotchy and irritated! I should have never even touched my face with it after I smelt how strong it was but I was compelled to see how it "removed black heads". I think it's safe to say that this was a huge waste of $12 and I will never be trying it again! Just reminding you, I don't have sensitive skin at all so this was just really harsh. The burning stopped after about 20 minutes and the blotchy irritated swelling went down after about an hour.
The consistency of this evil product is a gritty, sand like formula with a blue tint and blue exfoliating beads. Unless you have really tough skin or severe acne, I would stay away from this product. Then again maybe I was just allergic to something in it which would explain my bad experience but I have a feeling that it's just all the chemicals in it that were too much for my face to handle, similar to the Clinique products.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope these reviews were helpful! Also sorry for the dodgy pictures! I had to take these at night because I really wanted to get this review up.
