THE LIQUID LINE-UP / DRUGSTORE

It is a line-up, in every sense of the word.

We are taking a look at three liquid liners from the drugstore and making a verdict on which is worth adding to your collection.

Essence Eyeliner Pen
Essence is a go-to brand for affordable, accessible and decent quality makeup. The brush is quite stiff and long in length making it perfect for those just starting out with line who can't handle a flimsy tip just yet, although they are great for creating defined and fluid wings.  The pigmentation on this one is great and it prides itself on being long-lasting and smudge-proof. It creates probably the finest line out of the three and definitely the blackest. My only dislikes are that it can be uncomfortable to use and sometimes drags on the eyes as the tip isn't very flexible and if you get product in your eye it will sting.

Colour Theory Eyeliner Liquid*
This one has a medium sized tip and the largest thickness of the three, perfect for creating those bold and intense eye looks. My trouble with this one is that although the product starts off pigmented and smooth, it quickly runs out and you have to keep going over and over to fill in the spaces. Definitely not a characteristic you want in a liquid liner as it takes much longer to complete the look but maybe I just got a dud one.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner*
This is a product have been using for years and always repurchase but I really did want to give other liquid liners a go to see how they compare, hence why we are discussing the above couple. What I have found is that this remains my preferred liner. What I love about it is that the tip is extremely thin so you can create a very natural line or built it up to be more dramatic. It is also extremely pigmented and lasts a while without drying out, especially compared to other brands. It is also great due to it's long lasting capabilities and how it doesn't fade.

The Verdict
If you were to try just one of these three liquid liners I would recommend the Maybelline Master Precise because I think it is a liner that most girls would find works for them. However, if you are looking for something extremely affordable because maybe you only use liquid liner for dramatic going out looks, then Essence is the one for you.

As an Australian beauty blogger one of my main priorities is to make sure you girls can get your hands on the products I talk about. Essence is available from Target and Priceline. Colour Theory is available from Amcal Chemists and Maybelline is available from many department stores and pharmacies.
