HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: PALETTES EDITION

For the last few years around the holiday season I have been treating myself to a palette and I truly think they make fantastic gifts to women in your life

Last year I picked up the Hourglass palette and let's just say that I have not put it down since. There is something to a lovely luxury palette that means no makeup obsessed girl could be disappointing by. Whether you are looking at makeup for your mother, sister, best friend, girlfriend or anyone else..a great makeup palette is a beautiful gift and these five are my recommendations.

1. Bobbi Brown Greige Eye Palette ($105)
If the budget is around $100 then this is a perfect option for if the lady in your life who wears eyeshadow everyday because these colours are great for day and night looks. For myself this year I am actually tossing up between this one and the NARS palette which we will get into next. You can read more about it here.

2. NARS Matte Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette ($97)
This is the other palette high on my wishlist this holiday season because NARS have impeccable quality eyeshadows and when encased in such a luxurious holiday themed set it is irresistible. I actually think I am leaning more towards this palette because I think it will be perfect for creating going out smokey eyes. You can read more about this palette here.

3. Urban Decay Smokey Palette ($81)
If you have no idea what kind of eyeshadows the woman in your life loves then the Urban Decay Smokey Palette is a safe bet, especially if she is interested in the latest releases of the beauty world. It is the latest palette from Urban Decay and includes a mix of a dozen eyeshadow shades so she is bound to have fun playing around with it with lots of freedom to create a variety of looks. You can read more about this palette here.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($87)
Like I mentioned above - this was the palette that I purchased for myself last year and honestly I could not recommend it more. If the woman you are buying for loves a flawless base and perhaps doesn't focus too much on eyeshadow then this is the perfect trio for her. You can't go wrong because there are three shades and she is bound to be able to make it work rather than the tricky task of trying to colour match with a foundation. You can read more about this palette here.

Smashbox Full Exposure Eyeshadow Palette ($76)
This palette is great for anyone because it has perfected the balance of mattes and shimmers and has a great variety of both light and dark shades. It's a sleek and sophisticated palette that makes an amazing fool-proof gift for anyone who even remotely likes eyeshadow. You can read more about this palette here.

After looking into and writing about all of these palettes I'm really stuck on which one I want to purchase myself since each of these are so amazing in their own way. I'll have to think about it more and let you know which one I end up with - or "ones" multiple eek.
