How to Lose Weight the Healthy Way

With the number of obese and overweight people getting to an unbelievable peak around the world, what cannot help but wonder what we all are doing to stay healthy, or should I say, what aren’t we doing to stay healthy.

This scary phenomenon has given rise to the thoughts on how to lose weight and maintain a healthy and fit shape. While some are taken advantage of this circumstance (wrongfully so), there are lots of theories and diets on how to lose weight. But you will agree that most of these diets and theories are pure lies.

Anyways, I’m not about to add to these theories and lies but to give you a trusted way to lose weight and stay healthy.

Eat less and save more.
This is no mantra for global warming campaign. This has to do with what goes on in your body. The things about eating are that your body uses it (food) for energy. It then stores the excess of that energy in form of fat. What you get as a result of this is simply weight gain. In short, eating more food that your body requires to get fuel for its daily activity is bad for you. So, to lose weight, you have to do the opposite of this, which is…yep! You guessed right! Eat less. You also need your body to use up this excess energy (fat). Some of the efficient ways to go about this are by:

• Reduce your calories intake.
• Work out often (increase the level of your activity) Now you know why food experts talk about weight loss in form of diet, it’s because the problem and solution are in the food that we consume.

Let it come.
I understand the fact that you want to get it out quickly. But you’ve got to let the change come gradually. After all, it is said that small changes make a big difference. Cutting the slightest things such as biscuit out of your diet can go a long way. In any case, think of weight loss as changing your eating habit…permanently (scared you right). Set weekly weight loss and make sure you sustain this for months and years to come. Weight loss isn’t something you do in a day. It is not easy, but I can assure you, it is worth it.

Workout more.
For people who are trying to lose weight, increase in their level of activity seems to be the scariest. If you want to reduce weight, increasing your daily activity levels is as important as working on your diet. Hey! I know you hate gyms, I do too, but you need this more than I do. So, start with light exercise if you feel the pressure is too much. A 25-minute walk will do for now. But, before you feel comfortable, know that the rate at which you exercise determines the number of calories you burn.

Just make sure you find something you love doing (in terms of exercising) and work with that. In no time, you will start seeing the change you crave for.
