THREE PRODUCTS EVERY GIRL NEEDS

We all have those few products we use on a daily basis and we feel that no look would be complete without.

Although I personally tend to pick up around 10 products when I do a full face of makeup, it’s nice to know that three can go a long way when you focus on each of your features. These are three products that I always have within reach when doing my makeup. I feel they can stand on their own and are able to complete a whole makeup look with just the three but are also crucial parts in my full makeup routine.

When going for the minimal makeup look, I like to focus on lashes, skin and brows since adding a bit of product to those three aspects can make a dramatic difference.

Mascara – Lashes
A pick me up for those peepers
Why? A coat of mascara can really open up the eyes, making them appear bigger and brighter so you will look more awake even if you had a late night. The often change up the mascaras I use but I do like to mix and match, layering with different products to see how they work together. My current favourite is definitely the Eye of Horus one because it’s super black, has a nicely shaped, flexible, brush and volumises as well as lengthens. The thing I like most is that it isn’t super lengthening or extremely volumising, it’s the perfect mixture of both making it the perfect middle ground for everyday wear.

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer – Skin
The key to flawless skin
Why? A few carefully positioned swipes of concealer completely change your complexion without having to commit to foundation. You can cover any dark under eye circles, blemishes and pigmentation with this product that seamlessly blends into the skin. With just a minimal amount of this product you can cover all your imperfections without having to pile on foundation. This product could also be swapped for a BB cream if you don’t have specific problem areas to over and would prefer to lightly even out your skin tone instead. Remember BB Creams contain SPF most of the time while concealers tend not to so don’t forget to add a sunscreen underneath the concealer to ensure your skin is protected from the sun.

MAC “Cork” Eyeshadow – Brows
Frame your face
Eyebrows are the frames of your face and for someone like myself who lacks in the brow hair department, using a product to fill them is essential in looking human. I like to use a brow powder because it’s buildable so you can go for a natural look or create bold brows depending on the occasion. For blondes I have found from personal experience that a matte, cool-toned brown with a hint of red looks gorgeous for platinum blonde. Remember, your brows should be the same colour or slightly darker than your hair. You can invest in a nice brow set which generally includes a powder and wax otherwise I enjoy using MAC eye shadows since there is so much variety you’re bound to find one that matches you.

These are the three products I find most dramatically enhance the three features I like to focus on but it really is unique to the person and has a lot to do with your preference. I would love to hear from you so feel free to tweet me with the three products you can’t live without.
