Healthy Low Calorie Cocktail Recipe

There's about 290 calories in an espresso martini ...that's the same amount in a cheeseburger. So you can see how easy it is to drink away empty calories that are hidden the cocktails you have during a girls night out.

I will definitely do a post about my go-to drink orders for a night out but in this post I'm sharing with you a healthy at-home cocktail. It's low-calorie (128 calories) and made with ingredients that have great health benefits (everything other than the vodka of course).

I don't usually count calories, although I like to have a fair idea. But for the purpose of this post we're trying to understand how to cut down on empty calories in your alcoholic drinks and actually hide in them ingredients that are good for you.

Read on for the recipe...

Ingredients
1 shot Vodka (just don't pour them like this chick here) - 58 calories
120ml Diet Cranberry Juice - 60 calories
Half a lime - 10 calories
Dash of apple cider vinegar
Pinch of cayenne pepper

So now let's crunch the numbers of all the health benefits you get within your 128 calories.

Cranberry Juice is amazing for women and has benefits for skin, hair and overall health. It's super rich in antioxidants and vitamins which provide benefits including; urinary tract health, cardiovascular health, prevents tooth decay, cures colds, prevents inflammation and much more. This should be a staple in your fridge anyway but is perfect for mixing alcohol with.

Limes are packed full of Vitamin C which as we know is great for boosting the immune system, helping with digestion, aiding weight loss and assisting with eye care. But it also makes your drink taste delicious..

Apple cider viegar is SO GOOD you guys - seriously hop on the bandwagon. It lowers blood sugar levels and cholesterol as well as having fantastic results for blood circulation and infalamtion.

A dash of cayenne peppers adds some spice to your drink, think spiced rum style but it is also great to add due to it's detoxifying benefits. It's an anti-irritant, digestive aid, anti-bacterial and great for heart health.

So it's as simple as swapping your high calorie canned alcohol drink or sugary cocktail and replacing it with something that is not only low calorie but actually has positive health benefits.
