What I Eat In A Day - A Healthy Daily Diet

I am all about creating those healthy daily habits inspired by my favourite Aristotle quote "we are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act but a habit".

So I make a conscious effort everyday to do something my future self with thank me for, such as exercise or nourish my body with the right foods.

So obviously every day is slightly different but because I meal prep, a lot of what I eat is pretty consistent throughout the week. Today I'm tracking everything I ate to give you an idea of what my daily diet consists of. This is what I ate today, everything from what I drank to the supplements I took. I eat pretty consistently because I am a huge believer in keeping your metabolism running high at all times, and also I really like to eat.

Breakfast
The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a massive glass of water mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar. I stay drink but it's really more like sculling because as you can imagine vinegar isn't the most pleasant to drink. I will usually use this to wash down my daily vitamins. Each morning I take a probiotic, iron tablet and cranberry supplement.

If I'm exercising that morning I will also take a few BCAA (branch chain amino acid) supplements so that while I workout my body burns fat and not muscle.

Then I will have my morning coffee which is usually done on soy milk but weekends I will have regular light milk.
Now I'm going to admit it...I don't have breakfast. I know, I know... it's really bad. But between time and just not feeling hungry I really don't feel like eating breakfast. I'm going to work on trying to change this though so stay tuned.

Morning Tea
Around 10am I ate my first meal of the day, so this could even be considered a late breakfast. I had a Chobani Plain Greek Yoghurt, which is a great source of slow release protein and healthy bacteria. I do find myself getting hungry before lunchtime because I don't eat breakfast so this is how I make up for it. Greek yoghurt is seriously filling so this will keep my full up until 1pm.

Lunch
This is where I will have whatever my meal prep is for that week. This time round it is honey soy chicken with brown rice, broccoli and cauliflower. With my lunch I take my remaining vitamins; flaxseed oil, a skin and nails supplement as well as Insolar which is a high dose of vitamin B3.

Afternoon Tea
I had hummus and whole wheat seed and grain crackers as a small snack just before I left for Uni.

Dinner
Because I don't meal prep out my dinner, this changes pretty much everyday. Sometimes I will have another meal prep for dinner or eat whatever my mum has made if we are having a family meal. A lot of the times though, such as today, I do stop into Sushi Train to get my fix of sashimi. Raw fix is seriously good for you with salmon being full of omega-3 fatty acids and a great source of protein. Sushi is also a fantastic option due to the health benefits in seaweed and rice is actually good for you also.

Dessert
Okay so...I have a serious problem with sugar. I am obsessed with cake, ice cream and dessert in general. So I let myself have dessert most nights but obviously it has to be pretty healthy because I can't eat cake everyday (trust me, I would if I could get away with that one). So I opt for a banana with peanut butter and maybe a couple of pieces of dark chocolate.

So that is absolutely everything I ate today. I hope this has given you a good idea of what my general diet consists of and maybe some meal prep inspiration or snacks you can try out yourself.

Eating healthy is easy, it just takes a bit of preparation/planning and willpower to not buy takeaway for dinner and you're set. I still eat unhealthy food, just not ALL THE TIME and that's the secret - everything in moderation.
