Burberry are one of those cosmetic brands that I somehow never got around to trying until now.
I always considered them more of a fashion brand but now that we take a look at the direction makeup has taken, it's pretty much just another fashion accessory. Also, doesn't it make great sense for Burberry to create makeup using all of the on-trend colours that we see on the runway?!
So in this post I am going to be reviewing their latest lip product release - Liquid Lip Velvets.
At first these reminded me of the Innoxa Full Colour Lip Creams and they are definitely similar but not the same. The Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets are less creamy, which isn't necessarily bad. It actually means a more pigmented colour payoff and a more long lasting formulation.
The colour selection is to die for, with these three just being a few of the options on offer. What I love most is that they are bold shades but very wearable. The nude isn't too light that it looks like concealer lips, the burgundy is vampy but not over the top and the burgundy is softened with hues of pink.
The shades from L to R in the below swatch are; Oxblood No. 53 (deep burgundy), Light Nude. 01 (pale neutral nude) and Bright Plum No. 49 (intense plum).
The longevity of the product makes it well worth the money because not having to reapply your lip colour throughout the day is a huge benefit. Let's just say I was seriously impressed and will most definitely be adding to my Burberry makeup collection, Sephora here I come.
