My Produtive + Relaxing Morning Routine - Logged By The Minute

I used to be someone who pressed the snooze 10 times then roll out of bed with 20 minutes before I had to leave the house

Now I use mornings to get my day off to the right start, kicking off with a productive series of habits that lets me cross things off my to do list even before 7am rolls around.

This change in my lifestyle has had incredible results on my working week. I am much less stressed, am way more productive and it really sets a great tone for the entire day. I spend my mornings getting a lot done and preparing myself properly for the day ahead.

I really wanted to share this routine with you because once you find something that works for you a pick up healthy habits, it makes the world of difference. The benefit in creating a routine is that you are working towards your goals without having to use a lot of energy in thinking about what to do next.

6:30 - Wake Up
My wakeam up time is 6:30am which is a full hour or more earlier than when I used to get out of bed which leaves a fair chunk of time to start getting things done before I need to get ready for work which I start at 8:30.

6:30-6:45am- Supplements
I will head into the kitchen and drink a couple of tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar with water. I will also take my supplements of iron, a probiotic and cranberry tablet. If I plan on working out that morning I will also take 3 BCAA's (branch chain amino acids) so that I burn fat and not muscle. This is around the time I will also make myself a coffee because caffeine is life (I need help, I rely on coffee way too much).

6:50-7:00am - Meditate
Usually the first thing I do when I wake up is meditate for about 10 minutes. I will do a quick guided meditation that puts me in a positive and motivated headspace to start the day right.

7:00-7:20am - Read or Exercise
I usually prefer to read in the mornings and exercise in the evening before I have a shower but if I will exercise if I haven't the night before and if I am on top of my reading. So this one really does alternate but if I am exercising that morning I just do my 20 minute power Pilates routine which focusses on muscle strength rather than cardio so I don't break a sweat and as such need a shower. When I'm reading, it's usually alternative between 2-3 books so I will just pick up whatever interests me most that morning and read a couple of chapters.

7:25-7:45am - Getting Ready / Audio Book
It takes me about 20 minutes to get my hair and makeup done as well as get dressed. During this time I will be listening to an audio book and at this time I am getting through a 14 hour reading of 'The God Delusion' on Audible.

7:50-8:20am - Driving to Work / Audio Book
My drive to work is another chance I get to listen to something on the way in. It could be a podcast, lecture recording I need to catch up on or of course the audio book I'm listening to.

So that's my morning routine! It's one that really suits me because I value health (mental and physical) and knowledge. My morning routine allows me to attend to my mental health with meditation and my physical health with supplements and exercise. I am able to knock over a lot of my reading goals for the day by reading and listing to an audio book, since reading more is currently a huge goal of mine to expand my mind and increase my knowledge.

This routine is fool proof because once you get in the swing of things, it all comes naturally without effort or trying. This routine puts me in the best mood and really sets up my day to be super productive with a positive mindframe.
