New year! Who dis? I know saying things like ‘this is my year’ is almost as cliché as ‘new year, new me!’.

So I have compiled a list of moving house hacks that have helped me in preparation for this move and I promise will work for you as well. These may be things you had never even thought of, because some of them I hadn’t until I had to deal with them.

Resume Writing Tips to Stand Out and Get The Job + With Resume Examples

So I recently scored my dream marketing job at the start of the year and it all started when I stood out with my resume.

The recruitment officer said it was the most impressive resume she has ever seen. Like excuse me, what?! I imagine she sees a fair few a day as a RECRUITMENT OFFICER.

I kind of felt like asking what in particular she liked but was too busy patting myself on the back.

So I’ve taken to my resume that nabbed me the job with a magnifying glass to pull together some tips that could help you if you are currently curating your resume.

With these tips you will have delivered a blatantly honest, visually appealing and modern resume maximising your likeliness to get that interview and land that job.

How To Get Organised - Things to Do at the Start of Every Month

I know that saying this is going to solidify that I’m an absolute nerd..like those of you sitting on the fence thinking “she’s a bit weird but I don’t know maybe she’s still cool” will now have a clear answer. I’m basically the nerd emoji in human form.

But…nothing makes me happier than a new month. Purely because of the little nerdy things I do like I get to set my new monthly intentions and goals, I start a new monthly budget spreadsheet, a new monthly horoscope is released... and is that the smell of a fresh start and opportunity in the air?

Yep see. Weird. BUT let me tell you I’ve got a few hacks and routines for the start of each month that set you up with a clear direction for success, productivity and getting closer to kicking those goals you have.

Is Uni Necessary? The Argument From Both Sides

With Uni back in full swing, it has made my schedule even more hectic than usual. I like to push myself through the struggle that is full time work, full time Uni and so many passion projects on the side by telling myself that it will all be worth it in the end. But will it?I find University to be extremely fulfilling and it's something that I'm good at but I'm in the third and final semester of my Masters and never before have I questioned the necessity of University so much until now.

It recently dawned on me that I was spending almost 40k on my masters. So while I never entertained the argument that Uni wasn't necessary because I truly saw the value I was getting out of it, it is now that I am beginning to understand the other perspective on this.

As such, it seemed like an interesting idea to examine the necessity of Uni from both sides. I am going to be explaining the opinion I have had for the past 5 years about University being an essential step (at least for the career path I chose) and my experience with the value I have received from the education.

I mean, in my experience yes getting my bachelor was worth it. Primarily because it opened me up to so many opportunities, including landing the new job that I have just started and am loving. But it has made me question if doing my masters is worth it, especially with the hefty price tag of $39, 600 for 12 subjects.

We all hear about the lucky ones who get their foot in the door while still in Uni or land their dream job without studying at all. I started my professional career in marketing during my second year of Uni so I do believe that not only my degree but also my practical experience in the field is what helped me land my current position.

In this blog post, we are going to explore two different sides of if University is worth it based on unique situations. This might be useful for those of you contemplating your current degree or tossing up whether to go in the first place.

I hope this provides some insight into the different experiences myself and my boyfriend have had with University.

I’ll be talking about my experience completing a bachelor and studying my masters. To authentically capture the other side of the story I have backups. My boyfriend, Josh, will go into his opinions on University as someone who is currently completing his bachelor. I want to be as concise as possible, which will be difficult because my opinion on Uni has shifted quite a lot, especially since starting my Masters.

Books I’ve Read Lately #2

One of my 2018 goals was to read a lot more and get through a minimum of 30 book before the year is out. I am really proud with the progress that I have been making with this goal and am very confident that I will go well over the 30 book mark by the end of year.

So into the good stuff…the books that I have finished up reading or have been listening to Lately. Side note - Audible is actually one of my favourite things ever but I don’t want to rely too much on listening to books and want a good balance between that and actually reading a physical book. I don’t know why but I feel like listening to a book is sort of cheating but I can’t help but love being able to “read” while on my daily commute to and from work.

I have a pretty good mix of books in this list and they cover a variety of topics. I’ve also started assigning a rating out of 5 after I have finished each book so I will include that from now on in these posts.

Effective To Do Lists - Make Your To Do Lists Work For You!

I'm one of the biggest list makers you will ever meet. A lot of the time I even make lists within lists (borderline crazy) but it really works for me so I wanted to share with you my tips on how to create effective to-do lists.

It may seem trivial to even talk about but it's necessary in this busy lifestyle where we are juggling work, relationships, goals, family, friends, our health, fitness and life in general. Without to-do lists it's likely we will forget things we need to do or not organise them in a logical way where they all get done in a time efficient manner.

Keeping your thoughts organised and staying on track to complete all of the tasks you need is a good habit to practice and there are plenty of ways to make it easier.

Here are all the to-do list hacks I've found work for me and little tips and tricks I think might help you better organise your tasks in a way that they will all be completed.

Books I've Read Lately - 30 Books in 2018 Challenge

One of my goals for 2018 is to read 30 new books and I thought it would not only keep me accountable but also be a great way to share book ideas with you!

I already somewhat  kicked off this series at the end of 2017 with my post recommending books to read over the holiday period, which you can read here.

So let's get into the books I've been reading so far in January 2018!

Your Guide To Making Killer New Years Resolutions You Will Stick to in 2018 + Mine As Examples

New year, new me. I'm kidding...there's no way I would say something that cliche. But there is no denying that a new year can signify massive personal change and a series of fresh starts.

For me, 2018 brings a series of new changes for me. The biggest of which is a new job which will see me working in a totally different industry and while it's still marketing, the role will be very different to what I'm used to. After 2 years in my previous job I felt it was time to move on and like I had done everything I had set out to do there. I'm excited to take on a new role and become re-inspired with new challenges. Your professional work has a huge impact on your overall life and I can't wait to start this new journey.

When you read this, I will be in Vietnam! What a fantastic start to the year! Hoping that setting out on adventures early on in the year will help curve the travel bug for a little while because I'm keen to get stuck into working hard in 2018, which I find a lot of fun in anyway.

I see 2018 as being a super exciting start of a new chapter for myself. For this reason, I'm setting out on new goals. If you know anything about me you would know I'm extremely goal driven and all about ticking off those boxes and to-do lists.

But what this post is really about is helping you tackle all those goals you have swirling around in your head and putting them into tangible and achievable resolutions.

Beauty Tips To Survive New Years Eve

Whether you have got a hot NYE party to be at or are having a quiet one in watching the fireworks, there has never been a better time to pamper yourself.

Here are a few tips and tricks I have for NYE beauty that will leave you feeling top of your game. This is my favourite routine for getting back to feeling myself after I've slacked on my beauty routine - it's like a revival pamper regime.

It will also prep you for if you plan on drinking alcohol during your celebrations because preventing a hangover is always ideal.

Books To Read These Holidays! Like Must Reads....ASAP

Now that it's the holiday season, you might be finding yourself with a bit of extra time to do some leisurely reading so I wanted to recommend to you a few of my favourites that I have read lately.

Something you may not already know about me is that I am a huge reader. I try and read at least a few books a month and usually through a mix of audio and physical books. I've already powered through a heap more books so expect a part 2 to this very soon. I've very recently powered through a heap more books so expect a part 2 to this very soon.

I love to read a physical book when I'm by the pool, in the bath or first thing in the morning or at night. When it comes to driving, I used to be huge into podcasts but now I've subscribed to Audible and listen to audio books instead.

22 Lessons I Have Learned in 22 Years

A couple of weeks ago I turned the ripe old age of 22. Just kidding I know that's still really young but at the same time I feel as though I've grown up so much in the past couple of years, experiencing more changes than I ever had previously between birthdays.

I wanted to stop and reflect so that I could share 22 lessons I have learned in my 22 years on this planet. Some are quite life changing epiphanies while others are minor realisations that have still contributed to who I am today.

The Perfect Self Care Sunday

I love using Sunday as a day to recharge my batteries and prepare myself for a busy week ahead of working and studying. I treat it like my preparation day where I get everything in order and giving myself a little TLC to get ready for what is always a demanding week ahead.

It's extremely important to holistically take care of your health whether that be making sure you mind is in the right place, you are up to date on your fitness routine or simply that you feel confident about yourself. In this article I'm going to be guiding you through what I consider a 'perfect self care Sunday' and I really hope you give it a try to see if it works for you.

Minimalism Monday - Getting Rid of Your Filing Cabinet

I used to be someone who would keep every single document, thinking I would need it later. As such I ended up with a massive 3 draw filming cabinet exploding with papers.

I recently tackled what was the huge task of sifting through every single document and only keeping the necessary ones so that I could get rid of my filing cabinet and swap to a small document wallet to file my papers.

It may seem like something small but honestly, not carrying around all of that excess baggage has made such a huge difference in my minimalism lifestyle.

From this experience I picked up a few tips so if you currently have a pile of documents on your desk or a filing cabinet that is completely full then read on for my tips on how to be left with a small, neat document wallet.
