Books To Read These Holidays! Like Must Reads....ASAP

Now that it's the holiday season, you might be finding yourself with a bit of extra time to do some leisurely reading so I wanted to recommend to you a few of my favourites that I have read lately.

Something you may not already know about me is that I am a huge reader. I try and read at least a few books a month and usually through a mix of audio and physical books. I've already powered through a heap more books so expect a part 2 to this very soon. I've very recently powered through a heap more books so expect a part 2 to this very soon.

I love to read a physical book when I'm by the pool, in the bath or first thing in the morning or at night. When it comes to driving, I used to be huge into podcasts but now I've subscribed to Audible and listen to audio books instead.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F!ck - Mark Manson
A counterintuitive approach to living a good life
This book has quickly become a cult classic among the self development community and I can definitely see why. Having jumped on the bandwagon quite early in the phase, I was ecstatic when I saw the traction that it was making not just within the usual personal development fans but also breaking through to mainstream, reaching a wide audience. The message in this book is so great because it explores the way we perceive our life and how we act accordingly. This book provides practical tips and examples on how to greater improve your outlook and start living your ideal life.

You Are A Badass - Jen Sincero
How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life
I can not rave about this one enough! If you find you are struggling with self doubt or putting up roadblocks in front of your dreams because you don't truly believe you can achieve it - this is the book for you. It's all about quieting the negative voices in your head that tell you that you aren't good enough. This book really helped me improve as a person and gain a more positive mindset / overall outlook on life. It also motivated and encouraged me to continuously strive to be a better me and that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.

The 10x Rule - Grant Cardone
The only difference between success and failure
I have a love/hate relationship with this book but I definitely think it is a good read to gain a different perspective on how to approach business and life in general. What I loved about this book was that it really pushes you to reach higher and fulfill your potential. It encourages you to consistently try harder and keep striving for more, putting in 10x the effort than is expected. What I like about this concept is that it puts your future in your hands and says that your success is up to you to achieve so long as you do the work. What I struggled with was it is a polar opposite mindset to The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck and both agrees and disagrees with You Are A Badass. It's got a very blunt delivery which can be hard to process at times but it's got a lot of value.

My Horizontal Life - Chelsea Handler
A collection of one-night stands
This was a bit of a fun read by the pool because it explores the very non-serious nature of Chelsea's dating history and a bit of a deeper look into her past. I love Chelsea's sense of humor and laugh a lot at her blunt and brash comedy so this book was no exception. It definitely had me laughing out loud as well as questioning how true each story in the book was. Definitely a great pool side read during the holidays to lift your spirits and relax a bit.

That's it for now but look out for the next edition, I have so many amazing books to tell you about! What are your favourite books? Let me know in a comment below! I'm always looking for new recommendations.
