Get planning way in advance!

When you move, you should avoid making last-minute arrangements.

Unless you have to pack up your house and leave in a hurry, you probably have 4-8 weeks to make sure everything is organized for your move-in day.

Donate your unwanted items!

One of the most significant realizations that many people have as they begin to run down and simplify their homes is that they have more unwanted stuff than they ever realized.

There is no point moving boxes from your old home to your new home if they will sit unused for months. Save time and energy by disposing of these items.

Start packing early!

Ensure you stay organized when you start packing your home, making sure you have all the necessary packing materials in advance. This includes boxes of various sizes, masking tape, adhesive labels, colored markers, and bubble wrap. If you are moving items abroad, you can ask your removal company for packing and storage assistance.

Get the professionals in to help!

Unless you are a lucky person with a lovely friend who has an empty van, you will probably have to arrange for a professional to help you move house. People often underestimate the number of items they have in their home, and experts can help you lift heavy furniture and give you advice and get things moving more efficiently and effectively. It will also be better for you financially

Prepare a box with your most important possessions!

Make sure you have a travel bag with all your essential personal items. Even if you are moving next door, you should have a bag with all the items you'll need to be ready to go the next day (or the next few weeks if you can't unpack all those boxes). A change of fresh clothes, essential toiletries, phone chargers, and snacks (and even toilet paper!) Are handy to keep in a clear plastic backpack or box so you can easily access them when your new home is around. Full of moving boxes.

Notify people of your move.

Make a list of utilities and businesses in both your current and new homes that need to be notified of your move-in date - getting an appointment for your internet setup can often take weeks, if not months!

Don't let moving be stressful, be planned, and make it easy!
