HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING POWDERS PALETTE {REVIEW}

I haven't seen this much hype since the Urban Decay Naked Palette and I couldn't click on a blog or watch a beauty video without hearing about that one.

Yes I'm talking about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette that has been gracing our screens for the past six months or so. When I first heard about this palette I didn't think it was too special since I thought it was just a highlighting palette that so many products a quarter of the price could achieve, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

I posted to my Instagram after I had tried this product the first few times, saying that MAC Mineralised Skinfinish lovers would adore this. It's definitely not because it's a highlighting product but mainly because the two compliment each other so well. The candlelit glow that this gives, paired with the beautiful shine of a MAC MSF on the cheekbones is a match made in heaven.

The Ambient Lighting Palette comes with a selection of three different shades of powder, each with different uses. The first shade is a nude powder with a pink undertone and is perfect for all over setting of foundation. The middle powder is amazing for undereye highlighting and bringing light to places on your face. The last one is amazing for subtle bronzing because it adds warmth to the face and gently contours.

This versatile palette is perfect for setting your foundation with subtle bronzing and highlighting techniques. I like to use three separate brushes for each of the products to ensure maximum results such as a setting powder true to colour, bright highlight and glowy bronzed contour.

This palette is quite easily accessible from Mecca Maxima and Mecca Cosmetica and costs $76. At first the price point seems quite outrageous but when you think about it, you're getting three different products within the one case.
