BEHIND THE DESK #4 - CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME AND LANA DEL REY

Well hasn't it been a while since I updated you guys on everything! I think that is mainly down to how crazy busy I have been these past few weeks so let's fill you in.

As you read this I will be up 40,000 ft in the air (something like that) flying over the Pacific Ocean half way from Brisbane to LA. Despite having so much to do before I left it was pretty smooth sailing because I got stuck into crossing things off my list rather than procrastinating. Believe me I didn't think it was possible to kick my procrastinating habit but other than one procrasti-baking lapse I did really well.

I had eight videos to pre-film before I left so there was a lot of editing involved in that, thumbnail making, uploading etc. Basically the equivalent of cramming in a months worth of work into a week. Don't worry I definitely did not neglect the blog and we are all scheduled up on here for daily posts for a long while to come - yay for new and fun content.

I did mention in my previous Behind The Desk that I had four major assessment pieces to complete before I left but behold the Universe (or rather University) threw another assessment at me for a grand total of 5. Needless to say I spent a lot of late nights staring at the computer screen (although as a blogger that is really nothing new).

Now let's talk the new Lana album - I am DEAD you guys! If you were a fan of Born to Die and Ultraviolence then picture if those two albums had a baby = the new Honeymoon album. Let me preface this by saying that I am in no way a music buff and don't even have a huge passion for music in general but when it comes to Lana...her music is life changing. I can't even figure out my favourite songs from the album because I fell in love with each of the four singles as they were released then so many incredible tracks were on the new album. I think Freak, Art Deco, The Blackest Day and Swan Song are my current favourites. This album has spoken to me so much and I have officially assigned it as my LA/USA soundtrack and for Summer 15/16. I'm going to buy a copy of the album in the US so I can play it in the car while we drive from city to city (especially LA to Vegas).

Okay so I think that is enough rambling from me, especially because I am sure you will be getting a huge update in the next Behind The Desk since it will cover some of my travels. I'm off to go do some last minute packing - I can't wait to share my travels with you. Be sure to follow me on snapchat or Instagram @JordyCannon for some behind the scenes of the trip.

Thanks for reading!
