CONTOURING MADE EASY

Whether you struggle to find a product that works well for you or always end up with a harsh line, contouring mishaps are avoided with these fool proof products and techniques.

I have quite a round face so contouring for me is a great way of changing the shape of my face. Despite this I'm not as into contouring as I once was and often skip it on the daily but for night looks, events, in videos and when I know photos will be taken, I love to harness the power of contouring.

Read on for a run down on my favourite products are some technique tips on ensuring a perfect contour every time.

Chanel Soleil De Tan Bronzer ($67)
If you have a pale complexion but are still looking for a bronzer that has medium pigmentation and is buildable, this is a must. This bronzer has very slight shimmer that works to create a more natural finish without being sparkly or glittery. This product has lasted me years and I think I will have to throw it out for hygiene reasons before I even get the chance to hit pan. I really great investment for a product that you will get heaps of use out of. It works really well to sculpt your face without being orange or harsh so for me it is an absolute winner.

Hourglass "Dim Light" Ambient Lighting Powder ($76)
This particular shade is a buildable and natural warm brown. It seamlessly blends into your face powder, especially if you use the other two shades in the palette to set your foundation. This product gives the most natural look but it is definitely versatile so if you build up the colour it will become a stronger contour. The price is for all three powders but to individually purchase the colour "Dim Light" it is $59. I like to use this as a finishing touch after I apply powder.

Maybelline FIT Me Foundation Sticks ($15.95)
Seriously these have to be the most effective and easiest way of getting a dark and buildable colour placed precisely on the hollow of your cheek. With just one swipe there is a perfectly sculpted line ready to be blended out. This product is also by far the cheapest option of the three and one stick will last you months on end if you are only using it for contouring. I like to use this over my foundation and then set it with a powder.

My absolute favourite brush for powder products is the Real Techniques Contour brush because it is super precise and allows you to control exactly where product goes.

So if you have had one too many contour catastrophes then look into these three products because they are fool-proof and always work beautifully.
