IN FRONT OF THE LENS - CORALIE RYAN FROM FURLESS COSMETICS

Welcome back to another installment in the series "in front of the lens" which interviews talented women on their work, successes and advice they may have.

This time we are catching up with Coralie , the brains behind Furless Cruelty Free Cosmetics. I have been using Furless for years and if you are a long time reader of the blog you may remember a feature on Coralie a couple of years ago. You can catch up on that Q&A here.

Now let's get into the interview...

What inspired you to create Furless?
When Furless began, there was a definite lack of professional cruelty free makeup brushes on the market, and I decided to fill that gap by creating Furless. They were immediately embraced by both mainstream and cruelty free artists after the initial reservations over synthetic brushes being of poor quality.

What is your favourite part about your work?
Designing the products is definitely a creative process that I enjoy, and it is always exciting to see the finished product, and then the reaction to the finished product. You never really know how your creation will be received, and when it is a hit, it makes all the hard work that much more rewarding. I also love the social side to the beauty industry. Furless has made some beautiful friendships with makeup artists, customers, and beauty bloggers. We love following love stories played out on social media, watching pregnant bellies grow, and young fresh artists hone their skills and become Instagram superstars.

What do you find most challenging?
Balancing work life and private life is always an issue for me! What is your favourite product that Furless have released? Before the release of the Couture Base Essentials Kit, it was the Black Beauty Brush Set.

Do you have any advice for women who might be graduating their degree or looking to break into the workforce?
My advice to young women starting out would be to stick to your guns and always choose the hardest path to success; you will thank yourself for it later. The lessons you learn along the way will set you up to be able to handle the hard times when they arrive, and arrive they will! Another piece of advice would be to surround yourself with people who share the same values and goals. It is easy to lose inspiration and drive if you have energy zapping people around you who don’t understand your passion or the mission you have set for yourself.

What is next for Furless?
We have been busy little bees creating a line of makeup, with the first of the products to be launched soonish. 25 gorgeous loose eyeshadow pigments that are all vegan and cruelty free, and did I say they are gorgeous? So we are excited to see how they are received.

I loved catching up with Coralie and I hope that you have taken away something from this interview that could give you inspiration or help you with your own career. You can read my review on the Furless Body Contour Kit here.
