RACE DAY ESSENTIALS

This weekend I headed off to the races for the very first time to attend the Tattersall's Racing Day. Who doesn't love a good excuse to get dressed up and drink champagne in the afternoon?

I'm going to be talking you through some of the products that were essentials for the day and that I would recommend when getting ready for a race day.

Valentino Donna Perfume
This is the newest perfume to my collection and I will be posting a review on it very soon so keep an eye out for it. It is such a fresh and feminine scent that is a lot more sophisticated than a lot of perfumes I have. It is definitely one of my favourite scents to date and I am definitely obsessed with it. This paired with some deodorant will have you smelling fresh at the races all day.

Sun Sense Daily Face
This product is so important because sun safety is essential at the races since you might end up spending a lot of time outside in the sun. I kept to the air conditioned bars and lounges for most of the day but still made sure to put SPF50 on my face and neck then followed up with a normal sunscreen for the rest of my body.

Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Lip Colour
If you don't have the time to be reapplying your lip colour in between races and drinks then a long lasting product like this is absolutely perfect. At the races I wore MAC 'Pink Nouveau' Lipstick but I wish I had thought to use this dual product that lasts all day. You apply the lightweight paint-like formulation then seal it with a balm and it lasts through eating and drinking. This particular shade is in '810 Peach Cocktail' which is a stunning coral pink. My lipstick held up pretty well between the food and drink (pictured below) but in hindsight it would have lasted all day if I went with this one so that is my tip for you.

Chanel Mat Lumiere Powder
My last recommendation is a matte powder to keep your face looking shine free and flawless. I love the Chanel Mat Lumiere because it keeps my face completely matte all day and has a soft, silky texture.

Of course you also might want to look into a lovely fascinator - I went with a vibrant robin egg blue because I felt like it really popped against my blonde hair. It also perfectly matched my floral dress which was primarily blue and white with pops of pink and purple.

Overall I had such a lovely time at my very first racing experience and I look forward to getting all dolled up and attending another race day.
