Which Central American Country Should I Visit?

If you have never been to Central America before and you only have a short amount of time on
your hands, you may only be able to visit one of the eight countries in the region. Deciding which
one is the best option for you can be a tricky task which we are going to try and make a little bit
easier in this article. So, let’s take a closer look at five of the possible options of countries you
could visit in Central America.

Panama

Most famous for its canal, you may be wondering what else Panama has to offer travellers. Like
much of the rest of the region, natural wonders from lush jungle to a scenic coastline are in
abundance here. Panama City is also one of the most developed cities in the region. However,
you need to be careful on the roads, but the same can be said of plenty of other places in Central
America.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica tends to attract a lot of the visitors to this region, and it is a nation which is blessed
with biological diversity, unique wildlife and incredible natural wonders including volcanoes and
cloud forests. The capital city is where many people start their journey, and the
Courtyard San Jose Escazu is a great place to stay if you are coming here. Many people say
that the nation as a whole has a more safe and secure feeling than neighbouring countries.
There is plenty of tourist infrastructure already in place which may be a good or a bad thing
depending on the type of traveller you are!

Nicaragua

Nicaragua has been growing on the tourist scene in recent years, and there are plenty of
reasons why this is the case. In terms of urbanised areas, there are lots of pretty little colonial
towns. There is no shortage of natural wonders, the people are friendly, and it also has the
advantage of being a very affordable place to visit.

Guatemala

Varied, interesting and engaging, the landscape Guatemala is simply stunning. The ruins of
Tikal are a less well-known Machu Picchu, while you can also get away from the tourist trail all
along the coastline. This is the kind of place where you can see everything from lava erupting
from a volcano to sea turtles dotted all over the beach.

Mexico

Though there may be a bit of debate about where or not Mexico should be included on the list, it
is certainly a country which everyone should visit at some point during their lives. From the small
towns to the big cities, this is a country which is bursting full of life. You don’t simply have to stay
where all the tourists go to have a good time - and you will probably find that many of the negative
 stereotypes don’t ring true.

Now that you have an overview, hopefully, you have a bit of a better idea about which Central
American country is the one for you to visit.
