I was taking notes of all the cool activities we went to and amazing dining destinations to compile this ‘guide to Airlie Beach’.

Airplane Productivity + How to Get More Done in the Air

Sitting on a plane for up to 13 hours can seem like a waste but like with anything it’s really what you make of it! So, in this post we’re going to be discussing how you can make the most of your time spent up in the air.

I’m preparing for my impending 13 hours in plane rides to and from Bali so want to set myself up for success where I use that time productively. You know, to cross off a few items on my to-do list and such. So here is a rundown of some potential things you can do on your next flight and what my itinerary is looking like.

I love feeling on top of my work so my ideal flight to a beautiful location is spent wrapping my head around what I need to get done, getting on top of important tasks and feeling clear in my mind that everything is in order.

Packing For An Overseas Trip - Travelling 101

It's crunch time for me with less than a week left before I head over to Vietnam.

I've been so preoccupied with all the logistics of travelling (getting a Visa for Vietnam is actually a really complicated process) so I haven't stopped to think about packing at all.

Packing is important because you don't want to overpack and carry a whole heap of crap around with you but also you don't want to forget anything... So you need a game plan!

These are the biggest tips that I have learnt from my experience while travelling that I wanted to share with you ion case you have an upcoming trip! You might even just be heading home for the holidays but these tips will still help.

Well we're officially at the end of the year now and at full speed towards Christmas. Lots of exciting things have happened that I want to update you on so let's get into it...

I turned 22 and had an amazing birthday on the Gold Coast with my boyfriend spent poolside with cocktails and shopping. So yeah... my idea of heaven. I was super spoilt by everyone and am feeling super grateful for everyone I'm lucky enough to have in my life. I have an upcoming post called 22 lessons in 22 years where I'm talking through some of the things I've learned / situations I've overcome so far that I want to share with you - keep an eye out for that post. Bring on being 22, I have a feeling it's going to be a good year.

A Weekend in Byron Bay - A Guide On Where To Go

Last weekend, my sister and I headed down to Byron Bay to celebrate her 18th birthday by the beach. Winter was definitely not going to stop us enjoying this beautiful beach side town and exploring the sites.

Both my sister and I have been there before on separate occasions but have never hit the town together so we got to cross a road trip together to Byron off our bucket list. We went with no plans, other than to definitely stop into Crystal Castle on the way home (featured at the end of this post), have some fun and relax a little. That's exactly what we did so I thought I would put together a little guide on where to go based on our trip and the favourite places we found along the way.

BEHIND THE DESK #8 - ALL ABOUT THIS MONTH'S USA TRIP AND AN UPDATE

In less than 3 weeks I will once again be saying 'Later's Brisbane' and 'HELLO LA' (after a grueling 13 hour flight though). I'm back in the USA and this time seeing a whole lot more than I did last Octover.

It has been so long since I sat down in my office and just had a chat with you all mainly because I have had SO MUCH going on lately. It’s both fantastic and unfortunate because it means that I now have heaps to fill you in on but haven’t had time to do so until now. So let’s get into it! My head has been spinning lately trying to balance work, university and planning my USA trip. Let’s start off with the USA trip!

PLANNING MY TRIP TO NEW YORK

Okay so I’m headed back to the states at the end of next month and am thinking of spending a few days in New York. We all know my obsession with LA but I am totally up for taking in everything that the big apple has to offer.

I’m stressing just slightly because I’m an ABSOLUTE meticulous organiser but haven’t even started the New York itinerary so I figured I would sit down with you guys and discuss. In this post I am going to be running you through places I would love to make it to while staying in New York, almost as sort of a research and reference point for myself to kick start this itinerary.

I’m also going to be seeking out your opinions on social media because let’s face it, New York is a hella big city and I need some help scouting out all the cool spots. Been there and found an amazing hideout or had an incredible experience somewhere?? Let me know! I am all ears (that’s such a weird saying, ew).

Get ready for my wish list because I feel like such a tourist already after just writing this post. So help me out with some cool unique spots around New York! I don’t want to be such a basic bitch.

THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH - DISNEY ADVENTURES

While I was on the west coast I knew that something I wanted to do was go to Disneyland! It just had to be done because it's one of those bucket list places I have always wanted to visit.

Being Australian it doesn't always seem obtainable to go to a theme park on the other side of the world but I am really glad that I made it there and could experience it for myself.

Going in October meant catching the Halloween theme and Disney is so fun at Halloween! Pumpkin and haunted houses added a really lovely seasonal element to the experience. It also just so happens to be the 60th year celebrations at Disneyland in 2015 so I was extremely happy I was able to catch that and all of the decorating they had done for it.

Below I have shared with you some pictures from my trip to Disneyland! I hope you enjoy!

VEGAS NIGHTS

Las Vegas surpassed all of my expectations that I had of the city. I instantly fell in love with the grandeur of the architecture, twinkling lights and vibrancy through the streets of Vegas.

Everything was bigger and more impressive than I has imagined so I ended up walking through the Vegas strip for hours. There are endless shopping locations, hundreds of food options and interesting touristy stores like the Hershey's shop or MnM world - all within walking distance of the hotel. Everywhere I turned, be it day or night, there was something that took my breath away. The sheer amount of lit up buildings and billboards is enough to rival Times Square in NYC and the novelty of each themed hotel was amazing because of all the details. A standout is definitely the New York themed hotel complete with pretzel and hotdog stands inside. Caesar's Palace was also amazing because during the day you felt like you were in the ancient buildings of Rome.

I stayed at Paris Hotel and Casino which was Parisian themed complete with its very own Eiffel Tower. Inside the hotel transports you into the streets of Europe with blue and cloud painted ceilings and extravagant fashion stores in the hotel lobby. It was an amazing experience staying right on the strip in such a beautiful hotel and it definitely was a great time in Vegas. I can not wait to go back!

SANTA MONICA SUNSETS

After a few days situated in Hollywood it was a nice change of pace to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and head to the coastline for some fresh air.

When in California a visit to Santa Monica is a must for a fun filled trip to the beach. After all not every coastline can boast a theme park situated right on the beach pier. I strolled the iconic area - breathing in the salty ocean air, enjoying the Californian sun and staring out to the Ferris Wheel where Marissa and Ryan had their first kiss in The OC (I loved that show). It truly is a beautiful spot to wind down and relax because the vibe is so laid back in Santa Monica. Here are a few snapshots from my afternoon visit to this beautiful beach spot.

HOLLYWOOD FROM UP HIGH

One afternoon in Los Angeles I was feeling rather adventurous so hopped in the car and headed through the windy roads of the Hollywood mountains to reach Griffith Observatory.

It is the look out of all look outs with amazing vantage points of Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign. There is no better way to get your bearings than to see the city from up high. Some of these shots are too good not to share and I hope bringing you along for my holiday journey gives you even the slightest feeling of exploring the city and traveling right along with me.

A DAY ON RODEO DRIVE

When you visit LA one of the places you must stop by if you love shopping is Rodeo Drive! I'm actually back in LA right now and am so tempted to visit this amazing shopping destination for a third time this trip.

It is shopping heaven where you have all of your favourite brands in the one place. It's not only about the luxury products you can pick up, but the entire surrounding area is so aesthetically beautiful that it is an afternoon well spent wandering the streets and admiring the architectural beauty of the place.

With rows of palm trees that never seem to end and gold plated doors - everywhere you turn there is something fascinating to look at. I share my experience in photos below, I hope they give an insight into what this area of LA is like!
