Six Ways To Fall In Love With Your Reflection

Did you know that 30% of adults do not like how they look

Regardless of whether or not you find this statistic surprising, it’s important that we feel confident when it comes
to our appearance. After all, a lack of confidence often transforms into feelings of low self-worth and anxiety,
among other problems. It can also cause us to withdraw from those around us, or hold ourselves back from
opportunities that come our way.

You deserve to feel good about yourself for the simple joy of it - meaning you should smile each time you look in
the mirror.

With that in mind, here are some simple ways to fall in love with your reflection.

Change your relationship with your body .

You do not need to change your body to feel more confident, you simply need to change your relationship with it.
This way, you’ll stop searching for flaws each time you catch a glimpse of your reflection and will instead begin to
love what you see. You’ll see a body that is strong and powerful, a body that helps you achieve your goals.

Fortunately, there are many ways in which you can begin to change your relationship with your body, no matter how
complicated it may currently be. For example, you could
make exercise a part of your life. This could facilitate
healthy weight loss, but also releases hormones, such as dopamine, which instantly make us feel happier and more
confident.

You can also improve your relationship with your body by finding a way to silence negative thoughts. Each time
they pop up into your head, say three good things about your body
out loud. Over time, this will reprogram your
mindset so you are naturally more positive about your body. You may also want to stick some post-it notes with
positive quotes written on them to your mirror to jog your memory.

Look into cosmetic treatments.

While you are beautiful exactly as you are, cosmetic treatments can sometimes be a great way to elevate your
confidence levels. For example, if you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, you could look at

revision rhinoplasty crooked nose
treatments.

Of course, before any kind of procedure, you should be sure to carry out plenty of research ahead of time. Think
about things such as costs, recovery time, and more as opposed to focusing only on the end result. This will help
you to make a more informed decision while on the path to self-acceptance and self-love.

Don’t skip your Dentist appointment.

Your smile is one of your best assets - as it's the way in which you share joy with others. However, it could also be
one of the main reasons why you do not like your reflection, especially if you feel as though your teeth are stained,
crooked or otherwise short of ‘perfect’.

If this is the case, you aren’t alone. In fact, “three in five Americans simply hate how their smile looks in photos,”
and will therefore avoid smiling where possible. Fortunately, there are many ways in which you can
give your smile
a ‘makeove
r’ to remedy this - the most important of which is checking in with your dentist regularly. This is because they will be able to help you better manage your oral health. You could also schedule a teeth whitening session!

Develop a beauty routine.

While you do not need make-up to look your best, it can sometimes be a great way to boost your confidence as it
helps us feel a little more put together. As a result, you can
take your confidence from a 2 to a 10 by learning how
to apply make-up. For example, you could experiment with different colors and application styles until you find
one that suits your unique style and personality.

While learning more about the make-up world, you should also take the time to develop a skincare routine too.
After all, skincare complaints such as dry skin and acne can easily knock your confidence.

When curating the perfect skincare routine, it's best to keep it simple. For example, you do not need overly-
expensive products or a 15-step routine in order to look your best. Instead, use a cleanser, toner and moisturizer
each day - and you’ll soon notice the benefits.

Be wary of beauty standards.

We’re surrounded by unfair beauty standards each time we turn on the TV or open our phones - which can make
them feel inescapable. However, it's important to note that these standards are tired and outdated. The truth is, you
do not need to fit into a certain mould in order to be beautiful - you already are. And your quirks are part of what
makes you beautiful.

Being more aware of the ways in which beauty standards can influence our psyche and confidence can make it
easier for you to
reject them.

Remember that social media isn’t real.

According to a recent study, “over 1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men have said they feel like they need to change their
appearance because of social media beauty standards.
” As such, it's clear that social media is one of the biggest
confidence-killers around.

Fortunately, you can reduce the impact that social media has on your self-esteem by remembering that social media
isn’t
real. The pictures uploaded on these platforms show only a brief snapshot of a person's life - not the whole
picture. For example, while an influencer may make it appear that they spend every minute in full-glam, what they
don’t show is the times where they stay at home in their pyjamas all day, with their hair tied up and no make-up.
They also do not show how long it took to get the perfect snap. Whatsmore,
71% of people edit their photographs
before posting them
.

Keeping this in mind is a great way to stop comparing yourself to others on social media, which is a great way to
build self-esteem and confidence. However, you should also be aware of the fact that you can hit that unfollow
button whenever you need too!
